Mutts and Mayhem Races Ahead on Sunday, May 19

GREENFIELD - Dogs and their human companions will unite as one on Sunday, May 19 at 11 AM for the annual Mutts and Mayhem obstacle course at the Green River Swimming Area. All proceeds from the race benefit Paws Park on Petty Plain Rd.

“Mutts and Mayhem is the “paw-fect” opportunity for dogs and their owners to bond across a thrilling obstacle course,” said Recreation Director Christy Moore.

Mutts and Mayhem is divided into two obstacle courses: a small dog course (up to 40 pounds) and a large dog course (40 pounds or larger). Each course features 20 obstacle stations along an approximately 1.5-mile course, with participants running or walking, jumping or hopping, swimming, or splashing through the route. Participants should expect to get doggone dirty during the festivities.

All dogs must be leashed during the race. The small dog race starts at 11 AM, while the large dog race begins immediately after the small dog race is completed.

After races are completed, an awards ceremony will crown the champions of each session. Racers can also celebrate their success by enjoying snacks with their furry friends, checking out vendors or snapping photographs.

For entry, pre-registration costs $35 and registration the day of costs $45. To register and read the rules and regulations for Mutts and Mayhem, visit: https://www.greenfieldrecreation.com/muttsandmayhem.html
