Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Greenfield Conservation Commission will be conducted via remote participation to the greatest extent possible. Specific information and the general guidelines for remote participation by members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting can be found below. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post on the City of Greenfield website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.

Should any technical interruption to the meeting occur and the meeting is suddenly ended, it will not be resumed and all items will be automatically continued to the next scheduled meeting date. Contact the Conservation Agent for more information.

Schedule of Public Meetings & Hearings

  • Public Hearing: (Continued from 4/27/2021) Notice of Intent: Slope Stability at Rear Linwood Street associated with Franklin County Fairgrounds; (Map: 33, Lot: 16C) DEP File # Pending.

The Commission will review a Notice of Intent for slope repair for area where slope failure has already occurred and may continue. Plan created by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service includes the installation of a drainage pipe for existing flows and two rip-rap areas as well as new tree plantings and clean-up of sediment from Bordering Vegetated Wetlands.. Proposed disturbance to resource areas include Buffer Zone to Bordering Vegetated Wetlands, Bordering Vegetated Wetlands, and within the Greenfield Wetlands Protection Ordinance 25ft No Disturbance Zone.

  • Public Meeting: Request for Certificate of Compliance:: Slope Stability at Rear Linwood Street associated with Franklin County Fairgrounds; (Map: 33, Lot: 16C) DEP File # 168-0331

The Commission will review a Request for Certificate of Compliance for an existing slope stability project at the Franklin County Fairgrounds that never commenced and was never completed. Applicant is seeking an incomplete Certificate of Compliance required to be issued before any new Order of Conditions can be issued.

  • Public Hearing: Notice of Intent: Single-family home renovation at 1 Birch Street ; (Map: 82 Lot: 26) DEP File #: Pending

The Commission will review a Notice of Intent filed by Hasso Ewing of 1 Birch Street. Applicant is seeking to renovate existing single-family home including replacement of front and back porches, repair to southeast corner of foundation, minor regarding around foundation, and repairs to siding. Impacts to resource areas only include the 100ft Buffer Zone to Bordering Vegetated Wetlands and no impacts to the 25ft No Disturbance Zone.
