Oath of Office for Boards & Commissions

Once you've been appointed by the mayor and affirmed by the City Council to a city board or commission, you must be administered the oath of office. You must take the oath of office at the City Clerk's office prior to voting or counting toward quorum. You will receiving a notice from the Mayor's Office to inform you of your appointment and let you know the earliest date your oath can occur.

Currently, the oath is administered on Thursdays at 2 p.m. by appointment; please call the City Clerk's Office at 413-772-1555, ext. 6162 to schedule this appointment. If your schedule does not allow you to attend at that time, please call the office to make an alternate appointment. The Clerk's Office is not able to accommodate walk-ins.
