Age-Friendly Resource Guide

Age-Friendly Resource Guide

The Greenfield Council on Aging created an Age-Friendly Resource Guide that was distributed to households with seniors 61 and over on December 1, 2023. The comprehensive guideline is a byproduct of collaboration between the Greenfield Council on Aging, dedicated community volunteers and local organizations, such as LifePath and the Franklin Regional Council of Governments.

The resource guide coincides with approaches outlined in Mass in Motion’s Age-Friendly movement. Out of the movement’s eight domains of livability outlined, the Council on Aging chose to address Communication and Information for local seniors. The guide was funded by grants from FRCOG, who distributed awards of approximately $4,300 in fiscal year 2023 and fiscal year 2024. In FY23, the Council on Aging spearheaded a project planning process before compiling the booklet in FY24.

The booklet includes information on all facets of senior living, including abuse protection, advocacy and information, memory disorders, assisted living, home care, the senior center, behavioral health, food and nutrition, health, home care, finance and a plethora of other topics. It also includes spaces where seniors can input personal information to keep as a resource when needed.
