WHAT WE DO
The Board of Registrars of Voters is responsible for:
The Board of Registrars does not have regular meetings but meets by special posting. If a meeting is posted, you will find it on the calendar along with its agenda.
* As the terms of registrars expire, the mayor will appoint successors to equally represent the two leading political parties, as outlined under Massachusetts General Law.
The Board of Registrars of Voters is responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate lists of registered voters.
- Conducting elections.
- Accepting nomination papers.
- Certifying initiative or referendum petitions.
- Other duties as outlined under Section 6-17 of the City Charter and under Chapter 51 of Massachusetts General Law.
