Library Building Commmittee
WHAT WE DO
The Library Building Committee was formed to assist in the design of a modern, progressive, next-generation library. The committee accomplishes this goal though:
- Working directly with the Library project management and design firms.
- Making recommendations regarding the design and function of the exterior and interior of the new library.
- Soliciting input from the Library Board of Trustees, staff, Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, and the community-at-large.
- Keeping the Board of Trustees informed with a report at each monthly board meeting.
- Becoming familiar with design principals, both functional and aesthetic, of 21st-century public libraries.
- Reviewing the current Library building program.
- Assisting in establishing design priorities.
- Participating in the schematic design process, attending public charrettes, and providing comments on the developing design to the Board of Trustees.
- Reviewing final design documents.
- Making final design recommendations to the Board of Trustees for approval.
MEETING SCHEDULE
The committee meets the first Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. in the City Hall Meeting Room, Room 201, 14 Court Square, Greenfield, MA. Please check the calendar for scheduled meeting information, including agendas.
