GREENFIELD – Mayor William Martin urges all Greenfield residents and visitors to “Shop Small” in Greenfield on November 26th and join the nation in celebrating Small Business Saturday. November 26th marks the seventh annual Small Business Saturday, a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

Greenfield has supported Small Business Saturday since its inception, and Mayor William Martin has proclaimed the Saturday following Thanksgiving to be Small Business Saturday in Greenfield again this year. “As a community, this is another way we demonstrate our support for local business owners and the regional economy,” said Mayor Martin. “Everyone can find unique, special items from local merchants and get a great deal for themselves.”

Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States. The day is also championed by elected officials in all 50 states.
