GREENFIELD – The Mayor’s Task Force Against Domestic Violence will be purchasing and donating diapers to local agencies next week to help out local families. On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, the Mayor’s Task Force Against Domestic Violence will be purchasing diapers at BJ’s in Greenfield with their remaining FY21 funds that have been appropriated by the Greenfield City Council. Once purchased, these diapers will be donated on the same day to local agencies – including: New England Learning Center for Women in Transition (NELCWIT), Montague Catholic Social Ministries, and the Community Action Family Center.
Mary Kociela, Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force Against Domestic Violence, stated “The Mayor’s Domestic Violence Task Force is thrilled to be purchasing diapers for families in Greenfield with the remainder of our FY21 annual funds from the Greenfield City Council. We felt that during these difficult times, it was a good way to utilize the funds and assist families in need.”
According to Mayor Wedegartner, “I want to thank the City’s Task Force Against Domestic Violence for this initiative and imagination. Coming out of a very difficult year, a year in which we saw victims isolated and very serious cases domestic violence, it is important to do everything we can right now to support families in our community.”
