FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREENFIELD – Mayor William Martin has announced that the town will offer free parking for the holidays on Fridays and Saturdays from November 25, 2016 to December 31, 2016 in the municipal parking lots. “We try to accommodate the shoppers and local businesses with free kiosk parking during the holidays. We hope that this small gesture encourages local shopping and brings our community together in the spirit of these holidays,” said the Mayor.

The Downtown Business Association requested that the Town again provide free holiday parking on Friday and Saturday in the lots. At their November meeting, the Parking and Traffic Committee sent this recommendation to the Mayor.

All other parking regulations will continue to be enforced, in particular, spaces labeled “Permit Only” in these parking lots will continue to be for permit holders, and paid parking will continue to be enforced for all on-street metered spaces.
