GREENFIELD – City Assessor, Kimberly Mew, has recently received her full accreditation and designation from the Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO). According to the MAAO, “to earn this designation, assessing professionals must successfully complete rigorous educational programs, pass exams, and agree to comply with a code of ethics. To maintain a designation, designation holders must complete 45 hours of continuing education every three years”. Greenfield’s City Assessor has completed intensive coursework on subjects including: Assessment Administration: Laws, Procedures, Valuation; Principles of Assessing Procedures; Comparable Sales Approach to Value; Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal; Income Approach to Valuation; and Valuation Administration.
Greenfield City Assessor Mew stated, “I’m thrilled to receive this official designation from MAAO, thankful to be through the initial coursework, and am looking forward to maintain the credits required for the position. I want to say thank you to the City, Mayor Wedegartner, and most importantly my family for all their incredible support.”
According to Finance Director Liz Gilman, “Kim continues to be such an asset to the City of Greenfield. This designation reflects 8 years of experience in the Assessor’s Office and all the hard work put into coursework and seminars.”
