Join us Monday, February 7 at 6 p.m. on Zoom as we “reboot” Greenfield’s initiative to update the Downtown Greenfield Revitalization Plan. Link to February 7 6 p.m. Meeting.
Just prior to the pandemic, the Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee (SGIC) launched a community conversation to guide the future of our downtown central business district. After several years of working city-wide, the SGIC sensed that more focused attention was needed to support collaboration among the multiple initiatives and activities impacting our city center.
In February 2020, two well-attended and animated community forums launched conversations about our hopes and dreams for our downtown. In March 2020, as we prepared to advance the update of the Downtown Revitalization Plan, the pandemic arrived – causing city leaders to press “pause” on the planning process.
The February 7 forum marks the “reboot” of this initiative, where we will:
Mayor Roxann Wedegartner will kick off the forum and will be joined by Hannah Rechtshaffen (Chairperson, Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee) and MJ Adams (Director, Community & Economic Development).
During this session we will solicit additional public comment about what you’d like to see happen with the First National Bank Building. If you are unable to attend on the 7th, we welcome your comments HERE (by 2/10 please).
In advance of the forum, we will have a display in Wilson’s Department Store's front windows about what’s in the works for Downtown over the next few years. The forum will be taped and made available for viewing. After February 7, feel free to contact Greenfield's Community and Economic Development Director MJ Adams (mj.adams@greenfield-ma.gov) for more information.
