Construction to Begin on Fiske Avenue Pocket Park

The City of Greenfield is pleased to announce that work is now scheduled to begin on Friday, April 15 (weather permitting) on construction of the Fiske Avenue Pocket Park. The project will reconfigure the parking lot into a public green space, while relocating the parking to Miles Street.

During construction, there will be no parking at the Fiske Avenue parking lot and parking may be limited along Miles Street. Public parking is available at the Energy Park and Chapman/Davis public parking lots. Construction is expected to take about four to six weeks.

The pocket park design was created for the City in 2012 by the Conway School of Landscape Design. Portions of the plan have already been implemented, including the pollinator garden at the south end of the site and the chess table, benches and bike repair station at the north end of the site.

This final phase linking these two elements is funded with a grant from the MassDOT Shared Streets and Spaces Grant Program.
