City to Mark Veterans Day with Parade, Memorial Ceremony

The City of Greenfield’s annual Veterans Day parade and ceremony will be held on Friday, November 11. The parade will form in the parking lot of Greenfield Middle School at 9:30 a.m. and step off at 10 a.m. Marchers will proceed south on Federal Street to Main Street and continue west to Veterans Memorial Mall.

The parade will be followed by a memorial ceremony at the mall. The program will include an invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, remarks by local veterans’ services officials, the playing of taps and the national anthem, and retiring of the colors.

Christopher Demars, the incoming director of the Upper Pioneer Valley Veterans’ Services District and a decorated retired U.S. Army sergeant major, will be among the featured speakers at the ceremony.
