Central Maintenance Established as New City Department

GREENFIELD – The Central Maintenance Department, previously included within the Greenfield Department of Public Works, will now operate as its own city department.

Facilities Director Joe Pugliese oversees central maintenance operations, while Christopher Philips, Dan Cleary, Monique Rice, Steven Chevalier, Ed Reniewicz, Tyson Spenser and Dylan Otto provide critical support in preserving city facilities. Pugliese started in his position in June 2023 and has been an integral presence in various city projects, including several City Hall repairs and the ongoing servicing of the new Portland Loo restroom.

“Representing the city as facilities director provides an excellent opportunity to improve the working conditions and well-being of our city’s buildings inventory,” said Facilities Director Joe Pugliese.

“The Central Maintenance Department is a critical fixture in our city operations,” said Mayor Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher. “I have full confidence in Facilities Director Joe Pugliese and his terrific staff to continue carrying out the upkeep of our facilities.”

Central Maintenance administers corrective, preventive and planned maintenance for the city of Greenfield’s facilities, including building envelopes, interior finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, support facilities and permanent equipment. The department supports the city’s implementation of best practices for maintaining existing facilities and building systems.
