Greenfield Public Library Closes Leavitt-Hovey House in Preparation for New Library

GREENFIELD – Join us as we say goodbye to the Leavitt Hovey House, which has housed the Greenfield Public Library since 1909, on Saturday, June 17 from 10 am - 2 pm.

Stop by for one last visit, check out a book, have some cake, and share your favorite GPL moments in the memory book.

The Greenfield Public Library will be closed starting Monday, June 19, through Wednesday, July 12, in order to move and prepare for the grand opening of the new library.

For more information, and to access all the GPL digital resources, go to
You’ll find the “Quick links to GPL Resources'' on our home page.

This event, generously sponsored by the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and open to the public.
